The emphasis during the Strix’s development was placed on reducing the car’s mass, resulting in such choices as a single-cylinder engine, the integration of the differential and gearbox in a self-developed gearbox housing, and a self-developed pneumatic sequential shifter. An innovative suspension design based on transversal leaf springs garnered plenty of attention from rival teams and judges alike at every competition the Strix attended.
